Safety

Meeting new people is great, and a few habits make it safer.

Before you meet

Chat first in the app. Check their profile, and look out for answers that don't add up. Never feel pressured to meet.

Meet in public

Pick a busy public place for the first few meetups, and plan how you'll get home.

Tell someone

Tell a friend who you're meeting, where, and when. In the app, add a trusted contact and use safety check-ins.

Protect your details

Don't share your home address, workplace, financial information or passwords, however well you think you know someone.

Watch for scams

Be wary of anyone asking for money, gift cards or bank details, or who pushes you to move to another app quickly.

Report and block

Open someone's profile and tap the ••• menu to report or block them. Blocking removes your conversation and hides you from each other.

In an emergency

If you're in danger, contact your local emergency services straight away. The number depends on your country, for example 999 in the UK, 911 in the US and Canada, and 112 in most of Europe.
